1st July 2012

Initially on waking up I thought it was gone 10 o'clock. Didn't feel like I'd slept very well. How could I still be tired after 12hours sleep when I don't do anything all day?

Despite being able to drop back to sleep I thought I'd better get up and start the day with a shower.

I have been trying to set a routine for each day so that I have something to keep me occupied.

Start the day at 0700hrs. Go down stairs and do the first clean and dose of the eye. Boil a small amount of water for cleaning then apply the eye drops. There are three different ones. Two of them are 4 times a day and the other only twice. To make it easier the nurses at the REI have colour coded them, red, yellow, green.

I am supposed to wait 10mins between each one. This is I guess, so that they have a chance to get working before being flushed away by the next drop. Seeing as I'm only supposed to have a ten minute break I don't think this is possible. In the morning I apply the red dose first then start breakfast. After that I apply yellow and green in relatively quick succesion.

The routine for the rest of the day is fairly boring. I have to lie on my side for fifty minutes out of every hour, alternating sides for each session. During these sessions I listen a lot. Noises outside, radio, podcasts etc. Also re-reading electronic books to pass the time. Updating my blog.

In the short ten minute breaks I get showered, eat meals, tidy small bits like putting washing away. Anything really to get up and do something.

At midday it is time for the second dosing/cleaning of the day. Lunch is at one o'clock. Third dosing/cleaning at five o'clock with tea at about six or seven depending on mood. Final dosing/cleaning with all three again is at 2200hrs, then bed.

Not exactly a massive energy burn as days go, so didn't explain why I felt tired at 1030 in the morning.

Turns out the Omega watch had stopped again. If it's not worn all the time it stops after about a day. Something I keep forgetting. Not being a massive horologist not sure if this is normal for this type.Checking the electronic timepieces told me it was only 0630.

Weather looks glorious this morning. Doesn't look anything like the doom and gloom Anne predicted. Still, that may've been to stop me going stir crazy.

Definitely Sunday. Can hear the bells of the local church from the spare bedroom. Decided to turn the pond pump on to hear the sound of trickling water. Unfortunately it isn't really loud enough.

The wind picked up during the day. Probably not a good day to go sailing after all.

Will need to look into getting some supplies in soon.

Ken and Anne have said they'll pop round for supper later. Brought round a pizza. Big enough for tomorrow as well.

Not sure sitting up, even with my head tilted to the side, is good for any length of time as I now have a headache. Might be nothing to do with sitting up but will have to see.
